CDC RALLY | May 2018
On Sunday, April 29, 2018, I released the trailer and campaign for a new project I'm working on - if you haven't seen it click here to watch..
Well, with the help of a lot of beautifully kind people, in just one day I raised enough to take my first trip of the project. This came just in time as there were only 3 days left until the Lyme rally at the CDC.. so I booked my flight and left a couple days later.
It was a quick trip but the impact it left is immeasurable. I met so many fellow Lyme warriors of all ages... even a two year old. It broke my heart to hear story after story of how much this disease has affected each persons life, and how similar each story is to mine.
But being there reminded me why I am doing this.
It reminded me how much we need a project like this. Not just to create awareness and educate the public, but to inspire hope in those who can't see the light at the end of the tunnel. I've been there.. I've been at the place where hope is nowhere to be found, and the thought of giving up is louder than the thoughts telling me to keep going.
It's devastating, rough... and it's really hard to get yourself through that to the other side. But from personal experience, I know it's possible. That's the message I want to spread. The message of simply not giving up. No matter what.
*ps. if you haven't watched the trailer, go watch now! And then share it with everyone you know! Every share and each dollar help immensely.
